This review will be strictly about the The Freemaker Adventures Season One (Blu-ray) Disc Set and not a review of the individual storylines of the 13 Episodes. I have viewed a few Episodes from each of the 2 discs and the bonus content in a controlled home theater room, on a 150” Screen via a Sony 1080P Projector. My audio Source will be a Pioneer Elite Receiver configured with a 9.2 speaker setup. This is the same setup I used when reviewing The Force Awakens, Rebels, and Etc on Blu-ray.
Codec: MPEG-4 AVC
Aspect ratio: 1.78:1
Original aspect ratio: 1.78:1
Watching The Freemaker Adventures in 1080p looked great. Images looked extremely sharp and you could see every little texture in the Lego Bricks that created the characters, vehicles, environments, and etc. The colors in these CG animated TV show looked very vibrant and bold and popped off the screen. The Black levels were not prefect but did look fairly good as well. While watching the Episodes I didn’t notice any compression issues such as artifacts or blurring. The Blu-ray video transfer from the source was done extremely well and I was very happy to see that The Freemaker Adventures Season One was released on Blu-ray and not just DVD.
Audio / Sound:
English: Dolby Digital 5.1
French: Dolby Digital 2.0
Spanish: Dolby Digital 2.0
Subtitles: English, English SDH, French, Spanish
While watching these Episodes, I selected the default Dolby Digital 5.1 sound mode. The overall sound was adequate but not on par with what we got with Rebels or the Movie Soundtracks. Don’t get me wrong, Character dialogue, music, and sound effects were good, but seemed to be missing that punch. As for the surround sound itself you could notice background effects such as Blasters and flybys. Unfortunately there is no TrueHD offered.
Blu-ray Set Contents:

I would Definitely suggest picking this up on Blu-ray rather then DVD if you can. I really enjoyed the stories of LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures Season One, which are full of action and comedy. Most Star Wars fans would enjoy them. I would like to thank Lucasfilm’s PR for sending us a copy to review. Be sure to pick up a copy this holiday season, they are available at most retailers.
