Q&A With Hasbro's Star Wars Team - TBS 6-Inch Anakin, Hutt Slayer Leia, 50 LucasFilm LTD, TVC 3.75-Inch Razor Crest, Carded The Child With Pram

We had a Q&A Zoom session with Patrick Schneider and Chris Reiff from the Hasbro Star Wars team this morning. We were allowed to ask 5 questions which can be read below.

Q1): Why is The Black Series 6-Inch 110: Anakin Skywalker (Padawan) figure missing his cloth skirt?

Hasbro announced that this figure would include a cloth skirt and it was included in the Press Photos.

Was this a mistake during manufacturing or a design change that was decided at the last moment? If it was a manufacturing error, will we see a corrected version at all?

I am not sure on the history on that one, Patrick do you know any specifics on that one?

(Patrick)
No thats certainly something we can look into and have LPR circle back with a answer.

Q2): A lot of people thought for sure that TBS 6-Inch Princess Leia (Hutt Slayer) figure would have won the 2020 Black Series Archive Fan Vote, but in the end we ended up with a Clone Commander Cody. Any chance we will get a updated Princess Leia (Hutt Slayer) figure, or are the rumors true that Disney will not allow you guys to produce any more Princess Leia (Hutt Slayer) products?

Thats funny I read that comment online. We were convinced that Cody was going to win with the initial round of Fan Site voting because 15 out of 20 Fan Sites had him as the leader, so going into the final round its like ah this is pretty anticlimactic. We were certainly excited, Cody is a great figure and we were glad to see him come back.

In terms of Hutt Slayer Leia its always a conversation with the fan community and we love your feedback and responses. Right now that particular version of Leia and again Leia is a fantastic Character, it doesn’t really fit where we are hoping to take the line, but that is just one factor we take into account. Thats kind of the background of the Fan Vote and we were expecting to see Cody win and he did.

(As to the rumor of Disney not allowing Hutt Slayer Leia Products anymore) Not that I am aware of, I have not heard anything like that.

Q3): Will TVC 3.75-Inch Baby Yoda with Pram that will be included with the HaLab Razor Crest be available for sale at another retailer carded in the future? Maybe different paint applications?

Hasbro Answer:
(Chris)
Again we can’t talk about any upcoming products, but the one included with the Razor Crest is Exclusive to the Razor Crest and that would be the only way to get that particular version of him. Thats with in the figure or the deco in the Pram sort of thing. We tried to really plus that up and make that extra special for the fans buying the Razor Crest. So that version as is, only way to get it would be with the Razor Crest.

I think with the popularity of this character, it may force our hand at some point.

Q4): Why release TVC Razor Crest as a HasLab project and not just a normal release or a store Exclusive? It would have sold well and HasLab could have given the fans something out of the norm like a Death Star Playset or something along those lines.

Hasbro Answer:
(Patrick)
In terms of the Razor Crest, HasLab as we stated when we launched it is for dream products that we think wouldn’t work in traditional brick and mortar retail. The price point of the Razor Crest and the size and getting that box on the shelf and some of the challenges with vehicles, we thought this would be the only way to do it. Honestly if there was not a HasLab we wouldn’t have done it at normal retail.

We are glad that HasLab exists, because it gave us a chance to get the Razor Crest out there. And honestly give it the quality it deserves. we certainly could have cut corners and made it smaller, but a vehicle like this has more screen time then any other Star Wars vehicle other then maybe the Millennium Falcon, its so central to the show we wanted to do it justice. Honestly the work that Chris did on it as the lead designer on it, it looks amazing. So we wanted to do it right and we felt HasLab was the way to do it.

Q5): Whats does the “50 LucasFilm LTD” logo represent on the new Black Series Archives 6-Inch figure reveals? I take it we will see this logo on a bunch of other upcoming products (not just TBS 6-Inch Archives) as well?

So here is a area we can’t even dance around a little bit. Its interesting that we see that there, and there will be more coming.
