Entertainment Earth was kind enough to send us a free sample of their Exclusive Limited Edition Star Wars: A New Hope Grand Moff Tarkin Jumbo Vintage Kenner Figure to review. This Jumbo figure is manufactured by Gentle Giant, who has been making these Jumbo Vintage Kenner Star Wars Figures for years.
We will just keep the review short and to the point. I have also included a bunch of photos I took today.
Sculpt:
Back in 1970s and 1980s this is what Star Wars 3.75-Inch figures used to look like from Kenner and Gentle Giant recaptured this Nostalgic look to a tee, just in a much larger scale. The figure is created in a 12-inch scale and includes 5 points of articulation which are the head, shoulders and Hips. They sculpted him pretty much at a standing attention pose except for his right arm, which is posed differently than the left. This was done to hold and display his Command Staff. His left hand can hold the very end of the Command Staff as well.
Paint Application:
The paint application on this figure is extremely clean from head to toe, even on his Rank insignia Plaque. Paints used are Gray, Flesh Tone, Black, Silver, Blue, Red, and Yellow.
Packaging:
Tarkin comes packaged in a resealable clamshell blister card. The clear plastic clamshell is pretty thick and durable and opens easily. Tarkin and his Command Staff rests in a figure tray that is not attached to the Card insert. The double sided card insert is removable and is made from a thick card stock and looks awesome. Really glad that you can open this figure up without destroying the packaging.
